You Can Go Home Again


Italska 7, Prague

This is the address, on Italska 7, where Gidon, his mother, father and two grandparents lived for two years after having fled Karlovy Vary, to live in Prague, thinking they would be safe from the Nazis. It was from this home that they were then transported to Terezin, in late 1941.


Pictured below are the very stairs that Gidon carried his suitcase and knapsack as he and his mother headed to the train station. Gidon's father and grandfather had been on the first transport, about ten days earlier.


Going down these stairs would be the last time in four years that Gidon would be free.
